BLOOMING Variegated String of Hearts plants have lovely bulbous purplish-pink flowers, which bloom during the summer and fall. This species produces flowers more often than other succulent-like plants. Their long vase-shaped flowers may also appear at other times throughout the year and can last up to 6 weeks. PROPAGATION There are several ways to propagate this plant using their vine pieces. With the water propagation method, put the vine pieces in the vase and wait for the root to grow. Place the vase in a warm area with enough light. The time needed for roots to grow depends on light and temperature. With the right conditions, roots will appear after a couple of days. In the soil propagation method, remove the leaves on the side that you will plant and stick the vines into the soil. Make sure that the nodes are covered in the soil, the vines are placed in light and aerated area and the soil is slightly moist. For the tuber propagation technique, you need to find the biggest tuber possible. A fingernail-sized model may be a good choice. You can leave the tuber on the vine and press it into the soil to grow roots. Once it grows root you can cut the vine from the mother plant. CARE GUIDE Light Variegated String of Hearts plant is more tricky to care for because it is very sensitive to light. It needs proper light condition to maintain the color of the leaves.It loves bright light but cannot tolerate too much direct sunlight. If grown outdoors, find a partially shady place for it. If kept indoors, it needs plenty of strong natural light, like near an South or West-facing window or 6 - 12 inches under a fluorescent light fixture for about 12- 16 hours of light per day.Either grown indoors or outdoors, this plant needs at least 6 to 8 hours of bright, indirect sunlight daily.Rotate your plant from time to time to ensure that all the sides will get a balanced amount of sunlight to maintain an even color on the leaves. Once this happens, the leaves of your String of Hearts may shed, soften or turn yellow-brown. You should hold off with your watering right away and allow the soil to dry out completely. Consider replacing the old soil with fresh, well-drained, and porous soil. String of Hearts can also have mealybugs which are small bugs that hide in a white, cottony webbing. Q. What should I do after receiving my box? If your succulents arrive potted with dry soil, you can leave the plants in the nursery pot and wait 2-3 days before watering them. When watering, please give them a good soak. If your succulents arrive potted with wet soil, the first thing you need to do is to check their leaves and roots' condition. If the succulents look over-watered (yellow, transparent, and soggy leaves), remove the soil from the succulents' roots, and let them air dry for 1-2 days before re-potting it in a suitable pot. If the succulents look healthy, you can leave them in the nursery pots and water only when the soil is completely dry. Q. What to do if there is an issue with my order?
